The Jay County Color Guard stands as the premier visual performance ensemble within the band program, blending athleticism and dance with the coordination of flags, rifles, and sabers. Our program offers students a unique way to express their personal creativity while developing discipline and self- confidence.

The guard is active year-round class (audition required) which gives members the opportunity to participate in two distinct seasons. During the summer and fall, the Color Guard is a dynamic and integral part of the Marching Patriots, bringing the show’s theme to life on the field with vibrant costuming and synchronized choreography. They are essential to our marching band’s competitive success and visual impact.

When the fall season concludes, the focus shifts to the competitive Winter Guard season. Competing indoors, this dedicated group performs routine designed around complex narratives and staging. This season allows members to focus purely on the artistry and technical finesse of the activity.

We also take pride in hosting an annual Color Guard Clinic open to students of all grade levels throughout the school corporation. This event is a wonderful opportunity to learn the fundamentals of movement and equipment skills in a supportive, fun environment. Whether on the football field or the gymnasium floor, the Jay County Color Guard is committed to stunning visual excellence and building lifelong skills in performance and teamwork.
