Charles M. Roesch, Director of Bands

Charles graduated from Rockledge High School in Florida in 1991. He received his Bachelor of Music Education in instrumental music from Stetson University and his Master’s of Education from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2008. 

He is an I-STAR and Academic Achievement Award recipient in 2005, 2007, 2009, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2023 and 2025 for being an influential teacher as nominated by his students. Charles is a member of the Indiana Music Educators Association, the Indiana State School Music Association, the Indiana Bandmasters Association, Central States Judges Association, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and the Central Indiana Track Show Association.

Prior to his arrival at Jay County Jr.-Sr. High School in 2022, Charles taught at Centerville Senior High School for 20 years. Under his leadership groups have excelled in local and state level contests, with marching bands that perennially place in the top five.  Charles is committed to fostering the musical, intellectual, and personal growth of every student through instrumental music. He is married to Erin and has two sons, Samuel and Caleb.
